Hi! I’m Bobby Gotsch.

I believe everyone’s born with an inherent love for music. I’ll never forget the day my heart was first set on learning to play.

I was eight years old, and my dad had come home with a brand new CD. He carefully slotted it into our basement boombox when, suddenly, Jimi Hendrix's ferocious "Purple Haze" intro boomed through the speakers. I was sent into a rock-and-roll-induced euphoria, playing air guitar around the entire room. For the next year, I begged him for a guitar—any guitar.

My love for music education grew alongside my passion for playing. At age 14, I began teaching piano and guitar lessons out of my parents’ home office. Since then, I’ve taught countless students, both in my position as a licensed K-12 public school music educator as well as in my private lesson studio on piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, percussion, and voice. Nearly fifteen years of experience has shown me there is no one-size-fits-all technique to learning an instrument.

My students can expect to focus on learning the music that’s most important to them. Each student’s curriculum is personalized based on their unique interests and goals. Whether I’m teaching in an energetic classroom or in a calm one-on-one lesson, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the spark of inspiration on a student’s face—the same spark I felt when I first heard Hendrix.
